Located in County Durham and within the Swinhope Burn river catchment, this scheme will restore riparian habitats and enhance moorland, meadow, heath and woodland habitats into a high quality biodiverse landscape.

Billingshield Farms is part of the Living Uplands, providing wider environmental and social benefits in addition to BNG.

• Wear Upper operational catchment

Developers can secure biodiversity units for the following habitat types:

• Wetland habitats of very high distinctiveness
• Grassland habitats of medium and very high distinctiveness
• Heathland and shrub habitats of high distinctiveness
• Woodland habitats of high distinctiveness
• Watercourse units of medium distinctiveness
