A global leader in sustainable materials, Johnson Matthey required new development laboratories and office space to further advance its world-renowned products.

We were approached to deliver complex, high-spec laboratory and office space with responsibility for procuring contractors, overseeing the building’s fit out, and working closely with the design team. We were also purchase representatives – negotiating with the client's landlord along with their commercial agent that handled the lease agreement.

The building is home to the company's application research and development centre. Due to the nature of the reactive materials used, there were several challenges presented to us throughout the planning, design and build stages.

The project required a rare 'dry room' that utilises complex technology to reduce the temperature to -50 degrees Celsius for incredibly low levels of moisture.

The company's focus is on creating better and cleaner emissions; therefore, we executed a bespoke sustainable programme with a minimal carbon footprint.

Despite the challenging procurement programme and complexity of the laboratory equipment, we delivered a bespoke project management strategy on time and within the client’s budget.
