With decades of experience, he brings a understanding of buildings of all kinds. From barn conversions to town centre redevelopments, he knows how different construction methods come together - and how to translate that knowledge into clear, buildable drawing packages.
Perry started out on a drawing board, and everything was by hand - a full project set might take days to produce. Now, he’s generating 3D models, coordinating entire drawing packages digitally, and issuing documents within hours. The technology has changed dramatically - and he has changed with it.
But it’s not just the technology that keeps Perry motivated. It’s the people he collaborates with - consultants, clients and contractors - to deliver a building that meets the brief and holds up to scrutiny. The moment of handing over a completed project never gets old.
Some projects have left a lasting impression such as the Spalding Hostel in Cambridge, combining buildings from the 14th, 17th and 19th centuries, the Rookery Centre in Newmarket - a complex town-centre redevelopment, and the transformation of agricultural barns at Astwick into striking commercial spaces. Each one brought its own challenge and reward.
Perry is also driven by the need to communicate better. On the Cosin Court refurbishment, he helped develop 3D visuals that brought the design to life early on in the design process. It gave his client clarity and helped the team align from the start. That’s the standard he works to.
