Dan is a highly experienced project manager with over 20 years in the construction and property industry, delivering complex, high-quality developments that stand the test of time.

Specialising in leading education, residential, and commercial projects from concept to completion, Dan has a proven track record in both new builds and sensitive heritage refurbishments.

Recent projects include modernising historic Cambridge college estates for a zero-carbon future, such as Pembroke College’s £40m Mill Lane Development, delivered to BREEAM Excellent standards and fully gas-free.

Known for his collaborative approach and precision, Dan leads multidisciplinary teams to overcome challenges and deliver exceptional outcomes. His focus is on creating spaces that are functional, inspiring, and built for the future.

Since joining the Cambridge project management team in 2007, Dan has been instrumental in its growth and success, reflecting his loyalty, expertise, and ability to see projects through from start to finish.

Bidwells, led by Dan Carter, expertly managed our £85m Mill Lane Development from 2017 to 2025. Despite challenges including Covid, Brexit and site acquisition delays, they consistently protected the College’s interests, provided clarity at every stage, and ultimately delivered the project under budget. The project’s widely acclaimed success is a testament to their skill, dedication, and determination to achieve the best possible outcome for the College.
